[China exported 5,673 mt of lithium hydroxide in August, a notable month-on-month increase]

According to customs data, China exported 5,673 metric tons of lithium hydroxide in August 2025, marking a 355% month-over-month increase and a 46% year-over-year decline.

By destination, South Korea and Japan together accounted for 68% of total exports:

  • South Korea: 2,933 mt, up 250% MoM, down 59% YoY
  • Japan: 897 mt, up 240% MoM, down 70% YoY

Additionally, China imported 1,224 mt of lithium hydroxide in August, showing a significant month-over-month increase.

A total of 36 enterprises are included in this batch. Among them, energy storage battery manufacturers include Ganfeng LiEnergy, Yichun Gotion, and Zhongqi Xinneng Qingdao. Other enterprises on the list are categorized into power batteries, cathode materials, anode materials, separators, and consumer batteries, among others.
